Hera Addresses Her Critics
(an ovillejo--'tangled ball of yarn')
read by mary meriam
Peas, old copper, mint, the leprechaun,
Frog spawn,
Various fungi, mosses, peacocks,
Flower stalks,
Emeralds, some apples, most leaves, the sea.
Not me,
Though you'd love to think it. Envy
Is something I don't need.
Some things are green, agreed--
Frog spawn, flower stalks -- not me.
Juleigh Howard-Hobson's poetry has appeared in or shall appear in The Lyric,
Able Muse, 14 by 14, Mobius, The Raintown Review, The Alabama Literary Review and
many other venues--both in print and cyber-print.
